WATS, the Women Award in Technology and Science, has been launched! This year you can vote for 4 women who chose a career in the world of science and technology, a field that is still run by men today. The aim is to put remarkable female scientists in the spotlight and to inspire the Brussels young girls about scientific studies and careers.

Too few women in Belgium opt for scientific, technical, engineering and mathematical studies in higher education. In order to anticipate to this trend, Innoviris is looking for a female ambassador who can motivate girls in these fascinating fields.

For this edition, 4 candidates with different profiles have been selected:

- Orianne Bastin, researcher at ULB - check her video

- Asma Boujtat, laboratory technologist - her video

- Kawtar Mouhat, scientific consultant- her video

- Sanae Saadaoui, IT expert - her video

The communication campaign has been launched on our social media: each candidate explains her job in a short video.

Since Monday 18 January, you can vote for your favorite science ambassador. How to vote? Like the video of your favorite finalist on Facebook or Instagram.

For practical reasons, you can vote until February 8. We will announce the winner on the symbolic date of February 11 2021, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

Next to online voting, the ambassador will also be evaluated by a jury of Brussels young girls. This jury will take place on Saturday, February 6. Innoviris is therefore looking for female students (from 4th to 6th grade) to form this jury. If you work with young girls who also want to make a difference, don't hesitate to talk to them about it. Volunteers can contact Muriel Possoz: mpossoz@innoviris.brussels, at 02/600.50.15 or Muriel Innoviris (on Facebook).

Discover the teaser and the videos of the 4 finalists on our Youtube channel.  All videos are also available on Innoviris Facebook page. Do not hesitate to share our posts.
