Financial support for SMEs for short-term technical services provided by an AI center of expertise
Whether it's developing innovative new products and services, improving competitiveness, operational efficiency or decision-making, the benefits of AI for businesses are unquestionable. Nevertheless, when you're an SME, it can seem daunting to embark on such projects.
Are you in charge of a Brussels-based SME and want to exploit the full potential of your data or implement an innovative service through artificial intelligence? Benefit from the support of an AI center of expertise up to €10,000 through the “Start AI” Innovation Vouchers.
Innovation Vouchers “Start AI” are offered in partnership with SustAIn.brussels, the Digital Innovation Hub of the Brussels Region. SustAIn.brussels offers free, personalized support to companies wishing to develop in AI. Innoviris strongly recommends that companies seek the support of this HUB in their AI innovation journey, to help you mature your project.
Are you eligible?
- You are the manager of a small or medium company, which develops all or some of its activities in the Brussels-Capital Region.
- Your scientific research project or experimental development project is likely to have a favourable impact on the economy, employment and/or sustainable development in the Brussels-Capital Region.
- You must demonstrate your ability to finance your share of the expenses for the research project for which you are requesting funding.
- Your company has fulfilled its obligations in the framework of previous aid granted by the Region.

- Definition of objectives and priorities
- Production of all or part of a specification
- Implementation of a strategy, technology roadmap or architecture
- Identification of suitable AI models
- Data exploration and preparation
- Implementation of a chosen solution
- Validation of innovative process, product or service
- Production of a “proof of concept
The procedure in 3 steps
- Contact an accredited research centre. You will find a complete list of approved research centers where you can use innovation vouchers in the annexes below.
- Fill in the form, available at the bottom of the page, in collaboration with this center
- Submit your request by email.
Other information
The aid is capped at €10,000 per calendar year per company and covers maximum 75% of the expenses excl. VAT related to the study.
The study shall be completed within 15 months.
You will receive confirmation of receipt of your application within 2 hours. Please contact us if this is not the case.
