Prospective Research

OPEN CALL - Funding for academic prospective research on the urban challenges facing the Brussels-Capital Region today

Do you have an academic research project to help the Brussels Region build a solid forward-looking vision of the major social challenges it faces? Can your research project contribute to enhancing knowledge of Brussels urban complexity and improving public policy? Are you interested in prospective and multidisciplinary research? Find out how to obtain funding to contribute to the development of the Brussels Region.

This year, the Prospective Research program is becoming an open-call program: this means that funding applications can be submitted at any time of the year. A second important change concerns the research theme: research teams are given the freedom to identify societal issues that are having a profound impact on the Brussels region, and which we must urgently prepare to address. The scientific and forward-looking framework of the program has been consolidated and is presented in the program regulations (link in the toolbox below).
